New Local Chefs Serving Up Local Food

Beginning in February - New "Be Nourished" Menu from The Gleaned Gourmet Chef Services

Our weekly changing "Be Nourished" Menu for Mom and Baby is designed to nourish the unique needs of the prenatal and postpartum body. The weekly changing menu, featuring nutrient dense organic meals, bone broth soups, and herbal infusions, is prepared and available to be picked up on Sundays/Mondays. Additional to the weekly changing menu we also feature an online store of ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook nutrient-dense items. Locally sourced ingredients include: beef from Nevada County Free Range Beef, lamb from Flying Mule Farm and James Ranch, as well as seasonal produce and pastured eggs whenever possible. Order each week that is convenient for you, or sign up for continual service. The first three "Be Nourished" sign ups for one month of continual service will receive: One Free Prenatal Yoga Class at Down Doggie Yoga Studio, as well as Free Registration for on-going prenatal yoga classes ($30 value).

Catering and chef services for non-moms also available! Plus, watch for upcoming cooking classes featuring local ingredients.

In the Kitchen with Wendy Van Wagner

Wendy has arrived in the foothills bringing a wealth of farm to table cooking experience along. She really loves preparing in-home dinner parties. In addition to mouth-watering recipes using the bounty of Bluebird Farm (yeah, she's Tim's sister!) and other local producers, Wendy offers seasonal and child-focused cooking classes and has great ideas for local food education and school lunches. In The Kitchen will be opening a new location on Zion street this spring. It's in the process of being remodeled to feature a brand new, sparkling teaching kitchen! Watch for more information about her new summer culinary camp for kids in June 2008.
